Waynesville boys soccer scores early but Republic gets the win

The Waynesville tigers took on the Republic tigers Friday night. Waynesville's Darien Grosvenor opened the scoring for the night. Darien was unassisted on the goal. He fought hard for loose ball in the box and was able to slot it home for the goal. Waynesville had many chances during the night but were not able to score again. Isaac Swanson had a great night in goal. He came up big many times in the back and forth game. Goals for Republic came off a corner kick, a penalty kick, and then an amazing volley from the top of the box. Waynesville looked good but conditioning got the better of them. Waynesville will take on Hillcrest at home on Tuesday.

The JV tigers were also in action. Waynesville JV tigers won 3 to 1. The JV squad looked very good in their first match.
