For the first time since 2014 the Waynesville Varsity Football team defeated the Kickapoo Chiefs! The week 2 game for the Tigers marked the 2019 home opener, and the Tigers did not disappoint. A close first half saw both teams struggle to find a rhythm on the offensive side. The struck pay dirt on the their 3rd offensive drive of the game, with a 10 yard TD run by SR RB Shen Butler-Lawson. SR Kicker Aaron Choi tacked on the extra point to make the score 7-0 in the 2nd quarter. The second half was where the Tigers found their groove and never backed off!
