The WHS Boy's golf team participated in the 2014 Ozark Conference tournament at RiverCut Golf Course in Springfield, MO today. The wind was very heavy and it affected the golfers as the Tigers finished the day at 408.

The experience of heavy winds and a tough golf course will leave you scratching your head and wondering how did I just manage to make a double bogey on a par four? Well, it is simple. In the high winds, a ball slightly off target can leave a difficult approach or a very tough putt. This was a routine happening today as my kids just couldn't get the ball in good scoring positions. We have faced winds, but not a course with so many obstacles and hazards that RiverCut presents.

Wade Howser was the low scorer for the Tigers with a 95. Jacob Morriss came in with a 97, Fred Boone a 122, Dylan Reynolds a 105, and James Richardson a 111. I am continuing to like the progress Dylan has shown over the course of the season. He was out early with a medical issue and was at number 14 out of 14 before the season began. He has now climbed his way all the way to number 3 with his solid play over the last 2 weeks.

The Tigers will have a busy rest of the week as we go to Rolla Wednesday, Willard on Thursday, and a practice round at Old Kinderhook on Saturday in preparation for Monday's Class 4, District 5 tournament. Wade and Jacob are very close to putting a complete round together so hopefully the matches and practice will get them fine tuned for a solid performance on Monday.
