Earlier this month at the Ozark Tournament, the JV soccer team spotted the hosts a 2-0 lead and came back for a final 2-2 draw. In Tuesday night's regular season game, Ozark again went up 2-0, but this time WHS came all the back for a 3-2 victory, the Tigers' third in a row.
Spencer Blau scored the winner on a long shot after the ball had been sent out to him by Jorge Arriaga following a corner kick. His goal came with 19 minutes remaining in the game. Waynesville withstood a desperate Ozark attack in the last 45 seconds to secure the win.
Ozark had scored twice in the first eleven minutes before the Tigers pulled it together. Mark Sena headed the ball in on a touch from Austin Cartwright after another corner kick and Brandon Burkett scored off an another assist from Arriaga to make it 2-2 at halftime. The JV closes out its season against Jeff City on Thursday at Tiger Stadium.
