Tiger Tennis started their season off right with a 9-0 sweep against Houston. The boys have been working really hard and preparing well for this season, and tonight they got their first taste of victory. The Tigers only gave up 10 games total as a team, with Robert Osborn (Jr.), David Lund (Sr.), and the Osborn/Kyle Roberts (Sr.) doubles duo taking 8-0 victories. I'm super excited for this season, especially after watching tonight's match. This team of boys are just a lot of fun to coach. With tennis being such an individualized sport, one of the hardest parts of coaching tennis is teaching how every individual score and player comes together to make a team. These boys make that lesson easy though. They've learned to mesh together so well. It made me so proud to see them encourage one other tonight and line the entire length of the fence to support their teammates all the way up to the end when JV player Ethan Dietz (Sr.) finished off the last match of the night with a close tiebreaker win. It's that team mindset that will carry these boys to a successful season. We've got a busy week coming up next week as we start on the road to Lebanon on Monday.
