The Waynesville Tigers shut out the West Plain Zizzers tonight in a 9-0 finish overall. Only giving up 18 games as a team, the Tigers showed no mercy against this young opponent. At #1 doubles, Tyler Gayman and Cameron Martell took an 8-0 victory, as well as Aarron Emperato at #5 singles. This was Aarron’s strongest match of the season. Aarron has made great strides in the past year. As his first year on Varsity, Aarron has seen a great deal of competition, which has pushed him to improve so much. After a tough loss last Friday in the Waynesville Invitational, Aarron came out tonight determined to prove himself, and that’s exactly what he did.
Cameron Martell also had a great match tonight in Singles, only dropping one game to his opponent. His was probably the shortest match of the night. Cameron was beaming shots past his Zizzer opponent left and right. Cameron is probably one of my most consistent players. He reads the court well, but his aim is impeccable. He can place the ball anywhere he wants it, which is a skill all tennis players envy.
Tiger Tennis will celebrate their Seniors Wednesday night at home against Camdenton before taking the road to Osage on Thursday.
