Kickapoo's hard-earned 2-0 win Tuesday night boosted the Lady Chiefs ahead of Waynesville in the Ozark Conference soccer standings. Miriam Melugin, who is headed to Kansas University on a soccer scholarship next fall, scored both Chief goals in the first half. Melugin capitalized on a Lady Tiger mistake to put the first one in the net 26 minutes in. She followed that up on a strong shot with three minutes left. Waynesville had several chances to score in the game, especially in the second half, but a pair of headers over the crossbar and two shots right at the Kickapoo goal keeper kept WHS off the scoreboard. D'Anna Hasik had nine saves in goal to keep the game close.
