Host Springfield Parkview provided just the right get-well medicine for the Lady Tiger soccer team Friday night and WHS snapped a five game losing streak with a dominating 4-1 win at JFK Stadium. Waynesville outshot the Vikings 22-6, placing 18 of those shots on goal.
Waynesville controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, but didn't get on the scoreboard until the sixteenth minute. On a corner kick, Taylor Winking, slid a short pass to Krystina Zabek. Zabek turned and made a long ground shot that threaded the needle into the far side netting. The Tigers led 3-0 at halftime when Alexis Willingham scored off an assist from Xena Thompson and then Thompson nailed her own on a short breakaway.
After Parkview's talented forward Tyra Moore scored early in the second half, Kaitlyn Sieber finalized the score with 21:31 left. She was assisted by Emily Anderson. Emily Lucitt had a solid game in the back for Waynesville. The win evened Waynesville's Ozark Conference record at one and one.
