Tiger Tennis took their hardest loss of the season tonight, 5-2, ending their season of team competition.  After dropping to Rolla last Wednesday, 4-5, the Tigers hoped for revenge this time around.  Maintaining the lead by one game in doubles to begin with, Waynesville dropped two matches in the final few games at 1 & 3 doubles.  This was the most stressful game of the season for me.  Watching each game go into Deuce on all three courts made for an edge-of-your-seat tennis match.  The amount of intensity that went into each game was just overwhelming and resulted in a line judge being called to court 1.  Falling on two courts, the Tigers walked into Singles down a point and needing 4 straight Singles wins to pull out the W.  Mollie Henry got a quick win against her #2 opponent, 6-0, 6-0.  Ryhia Stevenson then dropped a match, 0-6, 2-6 to a particularly unusual, strong #4 opponent.  Still behind by 1, the Tigers fought through.  Leading the way on courts 3 and 6, the Tigers were still behind in close matches on courts 1 and 5.  Unfortunately, Rolla took two back-to-back wins on those two courts, ending the match and not allowing for Mykaela Baze (6-4, 4-2) and Chloe Trusty (6-4, 2-0) to play out their matches.  With that loss, the Tigers ended their team competition for the season.  Waynesville will travel to Jefferson City on Saturday to finish up their season in the Individual District Tournament.  Any athlete finishing in the top two of their bracket will advance to Sectionals next week.
