The Waynesville Tigers team defense has been “phenomenal” through the first three games. Week 4 was a chance for the offense to pick up the pace and get with the program. The Tigers run game established hard and heavy Friday night in the Tigers big 53-13 win over Hillcrest! The Tigers had no problems running the ball on Friday night, tallying 424 total rushing yards!!! SR RB Shen Butler-Lawson led the Tiger rushing attack, as he had a breakout game of 15 carries for 286 yards rushing and 4 TDs!  Butler-Lawson did most of his damage in the first half. He had 205 yards and 3 TDs to help Waynesville build a 40-6 halftime lead.

The Tigers defense created three Hillcrest turnovers in the first half, and the Tiger offense turned all three into TDs! Tigers Soph OLB Eric Richardson recorded a defensive touchdown on Hillcrest’s second possession. After SR FS Josh Ash blew up a jet sweep in the backfield, Richardson recovered the ensuing fumble for a touchdown that put Waynesville ahead, 14-0. Waynesville’s defense finished with three sacks and forced three turnovers. SR ILB Ian Williams leas the defense with 15 total tackles, followed up by SR ILB Maurice Fiame who had 14 total tackles.

Waynesville (2-2 overall) hosts Central for homecoming on Friday September 27. (Kickoff @ 7pm)
