Successful Senior Night – Tigers are Playoff Bound

The Waynesville Tigers (6-3) capped of their regular season with a huge 50-0 victory over the Parkview Vikings (1-8) Friday night. The night began with the 26 Seniors of the Varsity Tigers being recognized for their participation with the program.

Once the festivities wrapped up, the Tigers took to the field and began a dominant performance. Starting with the offense pulling out a 6 play drive that was capped by a 1 yard TD run by SR RB Shen Butler-Lawson. The Tiger defensive unit took to the field and created fireworks on the fourth play of the drive by causing a fumble deep in Tiger territory.

Later in the quarter, the offense scored on a 4 play drive that ended with a 3 yard TD run by Fresh RB Evander Bradford.

The Special Teams Units helped keep momentum on the Tigers side by causing a fumble on the ensuing kickoff as Soph OLB Eric Richardson recovered the ball at the Parkview 16 yard line. The very next play, Richardson lined up at slot receiver and took the quick pass from JR QB Mike Lewis in for a 16 yard TD. Later in the 2^nd quarter, the Tigers Punt Return Unit caused a safety and that extra possession was cashed in on the first play of the offensive possession with a 44 yard TD run by Butler-Lawson.

The Tigers took a 37-0 lead into the half, and simply continued the momentum throughout the 3^rd quarter as the final Tiger points were tacked on by Butler-Lawson scoring his 3^rd TD run of the night on a 5 yard carry late in the period.

Up next for Waynesville is a November 8^th matchup at home vs Springfield Central High in the District Playoffs. The teams met earlier in week 5 resulting in a 77-0 victory by the Tigers.
