The 8th Grade Tiger Football A Team looked impressive in their season-opening 48-0 victory over Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Jefferson City, MO. The Tigers were led offensively by Quarterback, David Adams, and Running Back, Andrew Croker. Both players rushed for over 100 yards and tallied 4 touchdowns between them. Defensively, the Tigers were led by Middle Linebacker, Devin Stearnes who anchors the Tiger defense. The Tigers proved stingy as they held the Patriots on three fourth down conversion attempts. The Tigers still have many areas to improve in, but their effort and relentless play was noted by the coaches. The Tigers will open their home schedule on Thursday, September 26 against Lewis and Clark Middle School with kickoff set for 5:30 for A Team and shortly after the conclusion of that game, B Team will play.
While it did not show on the scoreboard, the B Team played well also. Playing a shortened game, due to the lack of players for Thomas Jefferson, the Tigers were led by Running Back, Devon Smith and Quarterback Noah Ochoa. The Tigers were impressive on offense and held it together on defense despite playing with a patched together lineup. The Tigers will look to bounce back from a tough loss when they too, take on Lewis and Clark Middle School on Sept. 26.
