With 3.7 seconds left on the clock quarterback David Adams rolled outside of the pocket and threw a hail mary to receiver Adrian Alejos who made a great catch and then made two Lebanon Yellowjackets miss before scampering into the end zone for the game-winning score. The offense looked good in the opening half, but sputtered with several three and outs in the second half. The defense, however, kept the Tigers in the game by keeping Lebanon out of the endzone late in the ball game. The play of David Adams at outside linebacker, Andrew Croker at outside linebacker, along with Nick Clary, Josiah Felton, and Ethan Gatzemeyer on the defensive line gave the Tigers a chance to win it in the fourth quarter. Coach Floyd told the boys prior to the game that Lebanon would be a formidable opponent and one that they will see for the next four years as an Ozark Conference opponent. The Tigers will next welcome the Lakers of Camdenton to town on next Thursday, October 17, for what should be another great game.
The B Team, though they suffered defeat, fought hard. Quarterback Noah Ochoa dazzled with his footwork and cutback abilities in the open field making several Lebanon Yellowjackets miss on multiple plays. All season the Tigers have had to adapt and shuffle their lineup due to players being sent up to the A Team or injury. The Tigers will look to bounce back next week at home when they play conference foe Camdenton.
