The Freshmen Tigers took on the visiting Hillcrest Hornets Saturday evening in what was a four quarter battle. The Tigers had a 5 point halftime lead but the Hornets came out hard and fast and quickly went up by 5. The Tigers lead on defense by John Eley and Keshawn Smith faught hard and with three consecutive steals tied up the game at the end of the third period. The Hornets again came out swinging and pushed out to a 10 point lead. The Tigers never panicked and down 9 with one minute to play came together and faught. With only 3 seconds to play AJ Hyndman got the steal and lay-up under the Tigers basket, that would be the game winner. This game was a close one that showed the resolve of the young Tigers. The Freshmen play Tuesday night at home against the Jefferson City Jays at 1730 hrs.
