A pair of goals by Caleb Rodriguez and a strong Tiger defense set the standard Thursday night as Waynesville defeated visiting Willard 4-1.  Rodriguez started the scoring just 2:53 into the game when he caught up with a corner kick from Robert Bruns and headed it in behind the Willard goalkeeper.  Both teams threatened several times as the opening period continued, but it was Willard which tied the score at one by halftime.  Halfway through the second half, Shane Jewett scored his first goal of the season when he took a cross from Chase Holden on the right and beat a Willard defender close in.  That opened the floodgates as Rodriguez added his second goal four minutes later.  Following a corner kick, Rodriguez found himself with the ball at his feet and his back to the goal.  A quick shot coming off of a spin move found the back of the net.  Another four minutes later Brandon Ruess fired a shot in from near the top of the box.  Willard played hard all night long, but goalkeeper Jon Moore and the backs thwarted every attempt by the visitors.  The Tigers play at Nixa Friday night.
