In a rugged game featuring 30 fouls and five yellow cards, the Tigers managed a second half offensive explosion in beating West Plains 5-0 Tuesday night in Howell County. With referees blowing whistles right and left, and both teams thwarted by the rough play, no one could score until Caleb Rodriguez managed to make it 1-0 with 1:22 left in the first half. The goal came after referees issued three cards for spirited play at midfield. The ensuing direct kick made its way down the sideline and found Shane Jewett who served a perfect cross to Rodriguez for the shot. In the second half, four more Waynesville players found the back of the net. Nick Fricke pushed a loose ball into the goal eight minutes in and Chase Holden nailed a penalty kick five minutes later. Jewett later scored unassisted and Roberto Bachellor nailed the final score when he and Jewett teamed up to bring the ball downfield on a breakaway. The stubborn Tiger defense allowed the Zizzers only one late shot on goal, but keeper Jon Moore covered it. The Tigers will have Senior Night Thursday against Camdenton.
