Waynesville fought back from a pair of disappointing losses to win its third game in the Brown Division of the Kickapoo Shootout on Saturday, pounding Columbia-Battle 4-1.  The win was extra sweet as Battle had shutout the Tigers earlier this fall.  The Tigers got a pair of goals from Sam Thompson and single scores from Hunter Ball and Chase Holden as they outshot Battle 15-4.  Tied 1-1 at the half, WHS ripped off three goals in the second half to end its frustrating weekend.

On Friday night defending Class 1  state champion Springfield Catholic squeezed out a second half goal to edge Waynesville 1-0 in the tournament opener.  After a long bus ride home followed by an early morning ride back, the Tigers couldn't get the upper hand against Springfield Greenwood on a rainy, wet field.  Vince Houston and Caleb Rodriguez scored, but the Bluejays won, 4-2.  Goalkeeper Jon Moore had eleven saves in the tournament.
