Michael O'Donnel, playing in his first varsity game, wasted no time in scoring the overtime golden goal to beat Columbia Battle 4-3 Thursday night at Anderson Field.  O'Donnel's hard shot from the left outside came just 64 seconds into the first overtime period to end a wild back-and-forth game.

The Tigers had led 1-0 at halftime on a nice shot by Caleb Rodriguez off an assist from Robert Osborn.  Then, ten minutes into the second half, Chase Holden made it 2-0 and the home crowd started to relax.  They shouldn't have.  Battle came back to tie with a pair of goals near the 19 and 11 minute marks, the latter on a penalty kick. 

With 5:21 remaining, Osborn scored off a corner kick to put the Tigers ahead again and set up a long-ball defensive mode to protect the lead.  But WHS didn't clear the ball well and Battle took advantage, scoring with 1:38 remaining to force the overtime and set up O'Donnel's game winner.
