Waynesville stayed atop the Ozark Conference soccer standings with a thrilling 3-2 shootout win over visiting Camdenton on Thursday night.  Tied at 2 after regulation, the game extended through two scoreless ten-minute overtime periods before WHS claimed a 5-4 edge in the shootout.

Goalkeeper Jacob Woodward came up big with a save on the first Camdenton shooter.  All five Tiger shooters; Daniel Sesay, Hunter Ball, Robert Osborn, Brandon Hofmann, and Caleb Rodriguez then calmly found the back of the net for the win.

The Tigers had to come from behind twice in regulation against the determined Lakers.  Daniel Sesay scored in the first half for a 1-1 draw at intermission.  Then, after the Lakers had regained the lead with 11:53 remaining, it was Alberto Reyes who would send it to overtime.  Reyes used his new defensive midfielder position for a big game, leading several attacks out of the back, but with 7:28 left, he was near the far side for a Joey Cartwright corner kick, followed it across the goal mouth, and headed it in for the tie.

Now 6-1 overall, the Tigers play at Lebanon on Tuesday.
