A-TEAM: 25-20, 23-25, 15-6 Win
October 8th the Thomas Jefferson Patriots came to Waynesville to play the Tigers. Thomas Jefferson gained the lead early 12-16. #2 Alivia Siebert served 9 straight points to put the WMDS squad up 22-16. There was also great net play with #17 Maya Duncan winning a joust at the net to rally her team. #41 Gabriella Littrell had a kill, #0 Caterina Biever had 3 digs, # 32 Breona Hurd-1 kill. The Lady Tigers defeated the Patriots in the first set 25-20. In the second set, #2 Alivia Siebert again served well putting 7 straight over the net to give the Tigers a 14-11 lead. The Patriots came back at 22-21 and ended up winning the second set 23-25. #36 Torrey McCall-2 digs and #31 Sommer Freesmeier-1 dig. In the third set, behind #23 McKinna Brown and #2 Siebert's serving , the Tigers jumped out to a 10-3 lead. #32 Breona Hurd-1 kill, #33 Keely Harry-1 assist. Tigers took the third set 15-6 and the match. "I am very proud of both of my team's. They are starting to do some really good things as they are growing to get better. They are playing a very complex 6-2 offense which is very difficult at this age but through all of the early game struggles they are willing to do it to be better prepared for the next level of volleyball," said Coach Pollreisz.
B Team: 25-12, 25-14 Win
In the first set with the score 10-8, #0 Caterina Biever served 4 straight aces. #1 Camyri Cooper added three straight putting the Tigers up 18-12. #35 Natalea Sutcliffe served six straight to secure the first set win. 25-12. In the second set, #42 Jaiden Medinger-1 kill early setting the tone for the match. #1 Camyri Cooper served tough again sending 5 straight across the net to keep the game close 10-11. #30 Amari Kerr served three straight aces to tie the game at 13-13. With the score at 15-14 #21 Zeona Fortune served 4 straight to stretch the Tiger lead to 19-14. Waynesville went on to win the second set 25-14 and the match.
