Hello, I'm Coach Jolene Persoon and I'm married to Coach Shane Persoon. I have two kids, Julianna and James Bench. Both my husband and I share the same passion of coaching basketball and teaching young adults. I’m an alumni of the Waynesville School District and enjoyed playing both basketball and volleyball.

I spent 2 years coaching basketball at Laquey and this past year coached both my son and daughter’s youth basketball teams. This will be my second year teaching in the Waynesville School District and I will be at East Elementary teaching 5th grade. I’m very excited to coach the 8th grade girls basketball teams and look forward to working with the other coaches in the district.

As a coach, I strive to help shape the lives of my athletes to become hard working, team players, and model citizens. I will build quality relationships with my athletes while adopting unique leadership styles that best fit their personalities.
