Biography:

Coach Mike Armstrong  has been the Head Coach of the Waynesville Tigers boys soccer team since 2008 and has been coaching soccer since 2001. Since taking over the program the boys have won a conference title in 2012 and their first district title in 2014. He also assisted the girls soccer program from 2008-2012, experiencing their first District Title in 2012. He attend St. Bonaventure University and Park College. Coach Armstrong had a semi pro playing career in Kansas City MO and Rochester NY before starting his coaching career. 

Coach Armstrong is a guidance counselor at Waynesville High School.  He resides in Rolla with his wife Heather, son Beckham, and daughter Makenna.

Coach Eric Thornburg took over as head coach for the fall 2022 season, but has been an assistant at Waynesville since 2008.  He has served in many capacities with the team throughout the years, and is excited to lead the program and mentor young athletes. 

Coach Thornburg played varsity soccer for Abilene High School, and went on to referee soccer for several years while pursuing a degree in Teaching.  He also coached JV Baseball and Volleyball for two years at Clyde C. Miller Career Academy in St. Louis Public before joining Waynesville.

Coach Thornburg is a social studies teacher at Waynesville High School.  He lives in Pulaski County with his wife, Lisa, and their two boys, Elliot and Teagen.
